Huge double header with a couple of amazing bands from down south and local favourites dogworld.

Quivers have been a cathartic jangle pop band for long enough now to get supportive ears at Pitchfork, NPR, JJJ and even the band R.E.M., who once slid into the bands DMs to send fire emojis. Quivers have performed at Dark Mofo, Meadow, Boogie, and SXSW after which they filmed a session for beloved Seattle station KEXP. Late 2022 saw Quivers love every minute of a 15-date US tour to celebrate 2nd album Golden Doubt, described by Pitchfork as “like a Go-Betweens with Coachella-conquering ambitions”. With a Bella-sung 7” single, If Only, now nearly sold out, Quivers are now finishing up a third album for release in early 2024. Quivers’ music about grief, friendship and love makes total sense in the live setting; four people and voices that build it up to let it fall apart and then build it back up again.

Pretty in Pink is Claire McCarthy (Heart Beach), Lauren Mason and Elliot Taylor (Damn Williams, Tiger Choir). The trio makes DIY bedroom post-punk pop - sad girl party tracks with hooky guitars, sugary beats and hyperreal vocals.

dogworld plays an inimitable blend of dream pop, post-punk, and indie rock. The four-piece have made waves in Canberra since forming in early 2021, with their trademark raw, energetic performance style. They have joined the stage with several notable Aussie acts, such as Alex Lahey, Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers and Hachiku. Their sophomore release ‘left’ (released October 2022) was warmly received and featured by independent radio stations and featured on ABC’s Rage program, establishing dogworld as a rising Aussie-underground favourite and an act to watch in coming times. The band’s lush third single, ‘clown’, was also released in December of 2022, with enthusiastic reception from community radio, PBS, and Triple J alike.
