RA PRIDE event MEL (2024)

Event description

RA, with our partner Arcadis, is seeking to shine a light on the importance of establishing an LGBTQIA+ friendly transport sector following the hosting of a successful RA Sydney World Pride event in 2023. With Melbourne the home of many of Australia’s largest transport businesses, and with significant transport projects underway, we believe this would be a great opportunity for respected industry representatives to gather and show our support for this part of our community and, more importantly, seek meaningful change.

This event will follow the conclusion of the Midsumma Festival in February commence the Pride month of June, further demonstrating Melbourne’s status as one of the most inclusive cities in the world. Alongside Arcadis we are eager to further explore the concept of opening our roads and streets for communities, especially crucial during LGBTQIA+ events like Midsumma. This is a shift in perspective and language, from closing our streets for events to opening them up to new opportunities, sending a message of support, visibility, solidarity and empowerment.

The event would be at 5.15pm for a 5.45pm start with formalities concluded by 7pm, followed by networking and drinks closing at 8.30pm.
