Rabbit Care: How to be an A+ Bunny Parent with Anther
Event description
Have you been looking to become a pet parent? Well maybe you're a rabbit person! Rabbits are super soft, furry creatures that are quiet, have odourless waste, require low maintenance (no daily walks), and are cheap to feed.
Plus there's no greater feeling than when a bun flops beside you, showing that they're relaxed and comfortable near you, or even a binky in excitement.
But rabbits have very different body language, care and play styles to the dogs and cats that we're typically familiar with. In this class you'll get to meet and play with foster rabbit Fred Astaire from The Rabbit Sanctuary!
This class is for complete strangers to rabbits, or current owners/foster carers who are looking for more enrichment ideas for your bored rabbit(s) who might be nibbling on your furniture or cage. Rabbit toys and treats are perhaps the most budget-friendly of all pets. You'll learn to make toys from rabbit-friendly household recycling, and how to identify safe treats to forage from your own backyard!
So come and learn what it takes to be a great rabbit parent. This class is approved by The Rabbit Sanctuary.
What will we cover?
In this practical class we will explore pet rabbit needs, including:
- Observing behaviour and identifying moods
- Shelter and enclosures
- Feeding and toileting
- Play and Enrichment (with the option to make some toys from household recyclables while we learn)
- Handling
- Fostering and Adoption
What should I bring?
This class doesn't require you to bring any materials.
There will be a rabbit in class, so if you're allergic to animal dander consider taking an antihistamine before class.
If you already own/foster a rabbit, feel free to bring along some of their food or treats to incorporate into DIY toys which we can make while learning about rabbit care.
