Event description

Join artist and designer Rachel Burke to create your very own pair of STUNglasses. Explore the sculptural possibilities of a pair of frames and how to construct and embellish a spectacular piece of wearable art! All materials and one pair of STUNglasses (per patron) will be provided, but feel free to bring extra old pairs of frames if you'd like to transform them too!

Enjoy a glass of bubbles and a sweet treat from 6.00pm before the workshop in our magical Rainbow Gallery at 6.30pm.

Rachel Burke is a practicing multidisciplinary artist, designer, and author based in Brisbane, Australia. Known for her vibrant, tactile wearable artworks and iconic tinsel creations, her work is inspired by a love for naive craft materials and transforming the mundane into the magical.

Rachel has exhibited her work in many gallery spaces across Australia, including The Museum of Brisbane, Saint Cloche Gallery and The Australian Centre of the Moving Image

She has also published five books: Fancy Long Legs (2024 - which is currently being adapted for the stage by Little Red Production x La Boite Theatre), Craft Roach (2023), Pla Pla: Gather, Make, Play. (2023), Be Dazzling (2018), and Daphne & Daisy (2017).
