Rachel's Farm Screening & Fundraiser

This event has passed Get Tickets

Event description

Plunge into a Summer screening session at our regenerative farm as we showcase a humourous, family friendly and energising film about Rachel Ward's inspiring farm journey!

Film director & actor Rachel Ward is not the first person you’d expect to join a farming revolution. In this triumphant film, director and actress Rachel Ward voyages from her own wilful ignorance about the ecological impacts of conventional agriculture, to championing a movement to restore the health of our farmland, food and climate. Rachel's Farm is a film for anyone who cares about how their food is produced, the health of our soils, and the changing role of women on farms.

This Rachel's Farm film screening is a fundraiser for our farm, and our Staying Grounded Program, employing migrant women in a supported environment here at Common Ground Project.

Join us for a Summer Evening Fundraiser on our regenerative farm and learn more about our social enterprise whilst enjoying a film screening.

  • Doors at 5:30pm, for a 6:15pm screening

  • Drinks and a few farm snacks available at bar prices including local wine & beers

  • Merch, a silent raffle & other goodies will be available as part of our fundraising

About the Film:
Rachel’s Farm follows actor, filmmaker (and now farmer), Rachel Ward, as she transforms her cattle farm into a carbon-sequestering, biodiversity haven through regenerative farming practices. It's a glimpse into how agriculture and our food system can be harnessed as a powerful solution to climate change that's good for us, for farmers, and for the planet.

Amy, our Food Hub Coordinator spoke on the panel at the Geelong leg of Rachel's Tour, they were rich discussions with Farm My School and Yan Yan Gurt West Farm. We are excited to bring the film back to our farm and hopefully reach people who may have not seen it!
