The Belonging Collaborative

Belonging Collaborative is the collaboration of six peer networks to develop a shared vision to advance racial equity across the investment industry. The Collaborative includes Confluence Philanthropy, The ImPact, Impact Capital Managers (ICM), Intentional Endowments Network (IEN), American Sustainable Business Network (ASBN), and Toniic. The Collaborative’s mission is to create an activated global network of values-aligned investors who collaborate, inspire action, and elevate the industry best practices for racial equity investing.

The Panel

Jim Casselberry has more than 30 years of experience in investing, impact investing, investment management and investment consulting. He has an extensive managerial background in family and entrepreneurial businesses across industries of waste management, food manufacturing and financial services. Jim is co-founder and CEO of Known, an asset management and investment banking platform that deploys, structures, and shifts capital in ways that are healthy for the planet and the people on it. One of Known's areas of expertise is investing with the goal of addressing structural barriers facing underrepresented entrepreneurs and investors. Previously, Jim served as the Chief Investment Officer at 4S Bay Partners, LLC, a single-family office focused on social impact, where he remains a Senior Advisor. Jim is a board member at the Julian Grace Foundation and at Arc Chicago, LLC, the appointed board of Benefit Chicago. He is also the board chair of the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (LACI).

Morgan Simon has over two decades of experience making finance a tool for social justice. In that time she has influenced over $150B and is a regularly sought out expert on impact investing. Her book, Real Impact: The New Economics of Social Change has been featured everywhere from Harvard Business School to the United Nations. She is an active investor as Founding Partner of Candide Group, a Registered Investment Advisor working with families, foundations and other investors who want to flow their money to social justice-focused companies and funds building a new economy.

Rachel J. Robasciotti is the CEO and Founder of Adasina Social Capital, an investment and financial activism firm that serves as a critical bridge between financial markets and social justice movements. Rachel’s passion for social justice investing is rooted in her background as a Black, queer woman and growing up in a community that struggled for safety and financial security within a rural town that was largely segregated. Rachel is a fierce advocate for social justice in the financial industry and is regularly featured in the media as a leader in the field for integrating issues of racial, gender, economic, and climate justice into investment portfolios.
