Casual 70s racism! Blazers! Hang gliders! The worst James Bond! The guy you get when Bruce Lee dies during development! Muscle cars! ABSOLUTELY NO CONCERN FOR OH&S!!! Death defying stunts – literally! An exploding car almost decapitates the camera man. Car chases filmed on open roads. Karate fights on the top of Uluru! A main actor catches on fire! A number one theme song! So much kung fu!

Seriously, this film is a rollercoaster from whoa-to-go. To call it a James Bond rip-off or a martial arts cash-in does it a massive disservice. One of the flagship films of the Ozploitation era of the 70s & 80s – when generous government subsidies kick-started the Aussie film industry like a shot of adrenaline to the heart – cult director Brian Trenchard-Smith, stunt coordinator Grant Page and future Oscar winning cinematographer Russell Boyd bring a ferocious punk energy to the first Australian action film. This movie throws everything at the screen – but only you can decide what sticks when we decide if this film is RAD, BAD or MAD???

The RAD, BAD or MAD MOVIE CLUB is a free* film night for fans of cult, bad or bizarre films. After we watch the film we hang out and breakdown what we just saw. Hosted by film nerd Jase Kovacs, we go through the behind-the-scenes stories to work out whether this film is RAD, BAD or MAD?

Bring your own refreshments. The film is free but please bring a cash donation to our wonderful hosts, the Sawtooth Gallery.
