JCG Exhibition Opening: Regional Arts Triennial - Radical Futures

You are invited to join us for the opening of John Curtin Gallery's next exhibition season, unveiling Regional Arts Triennial - Radical Futures.

Regional Arts Triennial – Radical Futures brings together 49 artists to consider how regional communities imagine, make and care for the future. The diverse site-responsive and often collaborative approaches presented in Radical Futures reflect on cultural continuity and ecological responsibility interwoven with stories of migration, belonging and community resilience. Their works reflect the specific conditions of place while also speaking to broader questions about how we live together, care for the environment and respond to an increasingly uncertain world. A culmination of 13 regional exhibitions across Western Australia, Radical Futures at John Curtin Gallery reveals both the diversity and interconnectedness of regional experience across the state.

Legacies - Karlkura / Kalgoorlie is a multi-layered portraiture and storytelling project from the Community Arts Network, celebrating the legacy of ten Aboriginal Elders from communities of the Goldfields. Charting unique journeys through critical times in Australian history, Legacies honours their resilience amidst the challenging social issues of this rural, mining region. Open until 20 October.
