An invitation to meet RadicalxChange Foundation in Melbourne

Join us to learn about civic tech for democracy and community, and explore how our tools might serve your community or sector.

At the Small Giants Wisdom & Action Forum in May, many were energised by the extraordinary work and vision of Audrey Tang, Taiwan's digital minister and a global figurehead of the civic tech movement.

RadicalxChange Foundation (RxC) is a steward of and contributor to this movement, connected to creative technologists and movement builders worldwide. We're now expanding our work in Australia, and we'd love to share more about the movement and how it might serve your community.

At this small gathering for Melbourne friends, hosted with Small Giants Academy and Today, RxC Executive Director Jess Scully will be in conversation with Tamsin Jones on the role civic tech can play in building common knowledge and moral legibility to cooperate across difference, as we work with partners around the world and support them to take on some of the most urgent challenges of our time.

Jess and Tamsin will bring these big-picture ideas down to earth with updates from the Foundation's work: bridging polarisation on urban density in Sydney, moving beyond climate debates to help Colorado communities address urgent risks, exploring how faith communities might shape AI that reflects their values, and building a new model for community voice, leadership and ownership in setting the terms for data centres.

After this discussion and an opportunity to ask questions, we invite you to participate in a collaborative exercise in which we'll ask for your ideas on where these approaches might add value in your sectors or communities.  We are also excited to introduce you to the founding members of the new RadicalxChange Melbourne chapter, an emerging community shaping its own direction, priorities and do-it-yourself civic tech ethos.
