RAFFWU Documentary Screening: the BRTD Union Campaign *Second Melbourne Event*
Event description
Our Melbourne Premiere sold out so, while we have panelists in town, we have decided to host another evening at our office on Thursday 14 September.
What happens when retail workers take industrial
action for the first time in 50 years? They get the best conditions in the
sector!
Join us for a special second Melbourne screening of our documentary We Are All In This For Everyone Else: the Union Campaign at Better Read Than Dead. Come along to hear how Sydney booksellers banded together and fought for their landmark agreement that secured conversion rights for casuals, the restoration of weekend penalty rates, policies on workplace harassment and bullying, 26 weeks’ paid parental leave, and more in one of Australia's most precarious industries.
We start at 7pm with the screening to commence at 7.30pm, to be followed by a panel discussion with workers involved in the campaign. RSVP is essential. Light refreshments will be provided.
