Wildflowers & Weeds – Walk & Talk in Buffalo
Description
Join a guided walk with South Gippsland Shire Council Weeds Education Officer Amanda Christie and explore this section of the Great Southern Rail Trail.
Learn to recognise some of the native flora that grows here, and the weeds it battles against.
This part of the rail trail is great for koala sightings; lace monitors are also occasionally spotted!
Goat Grazing for Weed Management – Fin Ferguson from Ferguson Family Farm will discuss how goats can be used to manage some of South Gippsland's most problematic weeds, including blackberry, thistle and ragwort.
Learn how to integrate goats into your weed management plan and what the follow-up steps are for better long-term outcomes in both pastures and revegetation sites.
Bring along gardening gloves if you would like to participate in some easy weeding.
Morning tea included.
