RAINBOW STUDIOS Presents 'What Does Tarzan Never Say' By Jakob Juul
Event description
RAINBOW STUDIOS Presents 'What Does Tarzan Never Say' by Jakob Juul. We invite you to discover the launch of Level 2 and our first Artist Residency Programme at our iconic 348 Liverpool Street location. Danish artist Jakob Juul is the first to take up residence, using the space to create his debut solo exhibition.
For the next five weeks, Jakob’s creative journey unfolds in real-time, with Level 2 serving as both his living space and studio. “It’s been incredible to watch Jakob’s process evolve from piece to piece,” says RAINBOW STUDIOS Co Founder Jade Gillett.
Jakob’s work combines playfulness and nostalgia, often featuring his signature ‘R-bot’ characters—whimsical, futuristic figures that evoke childhood innocence and curiosity. His debut exhibition in Sydney reflects his personal memories and emotional landscape, with each piece inviting viewers into a world of lightheartedness and deeper meaning.
The title 'What Does Tarzan Never Say?' stems from a childhood game Jakob played with his father, symbolizing carefree joy and boundless imagination. Through this exhibition, Jakob reconnects with his vivid, whimsical universe, encouraging viewers to embrace the unfiltered creativity of youth.
Jakob’s work is already attracting international attention from galleries in Dubai and London. His distinctive style offers a fresh and engaging perspective on contemporary art, making it both visually captivating and intellectually stimulating.
