Raising a Vegetarian/Vegan Child Healthily

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

From birth until late teens, the nutritional demand of children is at it's peak.  Adequate nutrition is not only paramount for their physical development, but also for the mental maturation and advancement. Knowing this nutritional demand is of utmost importance, is a vegan, vegetarian or plant based diet healthy or safe for our children? Absolutely!!!

In this workshop you will learn which nutrients are paramount for this developmental stage, the recommended daily intake of each of these nutrients for each age group, where these nutrients are sourced from and how to achieve optimal health for children 0 months to 18 years, while following a plant based diet. You will also learn about which supplements (if required) are safest to use with children and tips and tricks on how to feed fussy kids.

This workshop is for any parents, or carer who cook meals and/or are responsible for the health of the children in their care. This workshop is not only for those wanting to, or currently following a plant based diet, but for also for those who want to learn more about nutrition for babies, children, and adolescents.

Bookings are essential. This event requires a minimum of 6 participants to run. Should there be less than 6, tickets will be refunded to those who have purchased tickets.

We intend on running these workshops at Northcote Natural Therapies. In the event that the government regulates that there cannot be groups indoors, this event will move to an online format (likely via zoom).
