Raising Calm: Nurturing Emotional Regulation in Children.
Event description
Parent Workshop: Supporting Emotional Regulation and Anxiety in Children
With Clinical Psychologist Tanzi Bennison
Following the overwhelmingly positive response to her presentation at our Conversations and Bubbles event in July, we’re delighted to welcome Tanzi Bennison back to Matahui School for a workshop focused on emotional regulation and anxiety in children.
Tanzi is a registered Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years of experience supporting children, young people, and their families both in New Zealand and the UK. She brings a warm, practical approach grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
In this workshop, Tanzi will share practical tools and strategies for parents to help children recognise, understand, and manage their emotions. Drawing on insights from her Chillax® programme, Tanzi will help parents feel more confident supporting children through anxiety and emotional challenges.
You’ll learn how to:
Recognise and respond to signs of anxiety and emotional overload
Support neurodiverse children with regulation techniques that work
Model healthy emotional responses at home
Build your child’s confidence and resilience
Join us for an engaging, down-to-earth workshop that offers reassurance, real-life strategies, and a better understanding of how to help your child navigate big feelings.
