Dear multicultural community,

In 2022, Brisbane celebrates 5 years of Raizes Brasileiras, a bilingual educational organization that teaches children, parents and the community about Brazilian culture, Portuguese language and bilingual education.

During this time, Raízes Brasileiras has educated over 200 children, presented more than 15 seminars for parents, teachers and researchers, organized around 10 cultural events for children in Portuguese in Brisbane, trained and consulted multicultural communities in Brisbane, Sunshine and Gold Coast, and maintained a mobile library with more than 600 children's book and a variety of games and toys that encourage communication in Portuguese.

By maintaining the cultural and linguistic identity throughout generations, Raízes Brasileiras supports the construction of a genuinely multicultural and an active multilingual Australia. We therefore understand that the return on this project benefits the entire Australian society.

Until now, parents directly involved in the project and a humble but excited network of volunteers have funded and allowed this project to exist. Unfortunately, these funds have not been sufficient to cover all of the professional services and administrative expenses required to continue and expand activities.

To continue delivering quality classes, organise multilingual events, educate parents and train new community leaders and bilingual educators, and increase the numbers of families involved we need you to become a member of Raizes Brasileiras' community.

HOW WILL DONATED FUNDS BE INVESTED ON RAIZES?

We will be able to:

offer more workshops for children, parents & educator for free or very affordable price for multicultural communities in Australia
make high quality cultural events in Portuguese for children (hire professional artists and offer quality food in our events)
buy more quality Brazilian-Portuguese books for children and teens
hire and train more teachers and educators
develop and implement an online platform for resource sharing
create a bilingual resource on our platform online
offer scholarship or membership for children who cannot afford
