Raku Workshop
Event description
Raku firing creates dramatic, unique surface effects, and is a much quicker process than most other firing methods. Your work is removed from the kiln whilst red hot and is then placed in containers of combustible materials. The resulting surface effects are often pleasing and surprising!
This four hour workshop will provide you with hands-on experience of raku firing techniques. Each participant will receive two pottery items to decorate, fire and take home. The workshop is suitable for anyone from beginners to experienced ceramic artists looking to add a new skill to their repertoire.
Our workshops are informative and relaxed, focussed and rewarding. Join us to learn and practise the art of raku firing in the beautiful environs of Crystal Lake Park, Macclesfield. The workshop fee of $60 includes all materials, and tea/coffee are provided. Bring a packed lunch or snack if you like.
