Random musings after a few...

Following on from our successful 2025 poetry event, Birkenhead Library invites you back for an autumn poetry evening filled with open mic performances. Open to ages 16 and above.

Audience members are welcome to perform their own poetry, or someone else’s. Poets will be given up to 5 minutes to share their poems. The spoken poetry will be accompanied by music performed by Meyta Music Classes and local artists.

If you would like your work to be paired with chosen music by our musicians on the night, send your poems to our email bkhwrk.bkhwrk@aucklandcouncil.govt.nz before 13th April 2026.

Light refreshments and giveaways will be provided.
