Random Weave Basketry Workshop

In this hands on class you will learn the Random Weave basketry technique and create your own sculptural basket out of locally foraged materials.

You will be guided through the technique while you learn to begin, build, shape and finish your basket, along with local plant knowledge and how to harvest, prepare and use materials for future weaving projects.

Discover the medicine of working with your hands and organic materials, connecting you with the natural world in a whole new way.

This particular style of weaving invites you to lean into free creative expression rather than perfection — to listen to the material you’re using and work in harmony with it. To play and to allow yourself to relax into the randomness of it all.

You will leave with your own handcrafted piece, and knowledge to further continue exploring this style of weaving.
