We have Very Good News!
During the first week of June this year, we have Not One, but Two (and, yes, you can ask for a set of steak knives to be thrown in) of our Very Best Producers visiting Melbourne.
On Saturday June 7 you will get to meet Willy Perez, he of the Bodegas Luis Perez and M Antionio de la Riva projects in Marco de Jerez. With him, with be our great friend Victor Charcan, and his amazing Rioja reds from Bodegas Roda.
HOLD THIS DATE: there’ll be some sort of public tasting during the day Saturday June 7. Say no to any wedding invitations, etc that come along in the interim.

Expected duration two hours, with snacks … afterwards you can go downstairs and top up on further snacks and a couple of glasses at everyone’s favourite destination – The Bar at Bar Lourinha!
COST $150/head including Willy and snacks.

WHY IS SCOTT SO EXCITED?
Well, for starters, Willy’s one of the most riveting guys in wine.
And as well as all of his gorgeous Palomino whites, he has released a plethora of weird, very wonderful and extremely low production Sherries under both the La Riva and BLP labels over the last 8 years. AND Scott has been collecting them. While we have Willy here it would be mad not to try a bunch of them. **Much of what you taste on the night is not even available for purchase – many of them will be “one-and-done” on the night. There will be some things available for purchase, though, you will have the chance to hurt the wallet plenty.
The Tasting will look Something like This:
(even if you just look at Wines 2, 8, 9, you’ll see the best vineyard in all of el Marco, Pago Macharnudo’s ‘el Notario’ bottled 3 ways, 2 of which have never been seen in the contemporary age, yet each of which is a deeply historical and important wine from “back in the day last time Jerez was great …”)
