Rastislav "Rasty" Kasar's MONIN Masterclass Melbourne

Rastislav Kasar, known as Rasty, began his journey as a talented Slovak barista and bartender. While studying at the School of Hospitality and Trade in Slovakia, he set his sights on joining the world-famous American Bar at The Savoy - a dream he achieved at just 20, becoming its youngest-ever team member. Working alongside his idol, Erik Lorincz, was a defining moment in shaping Rasty’s craft.

From there, he immersed himself in London’s vibrant coffee and cocktail scene, refining his skills at acclaimed venues like Scarfes Bar at the Rosewood and contributing to the openings of Erik Lorincz’s celebrated Kwãnt 1.0 and 2.0. After Kwãnt’s closures, Rasty returned to his first love, coffee. He dominated the stage by winning the 2022 Coffee Masters and the 2023 UK Coffee in Good Spirits competitions, before achieving victory at the World Coffee in Good Spirits Championship in Taipei.
