RAVE-OLUTION by The Temple of Techno
Event description
We are a collective of artists and techno enthusiasts who come together to send prayers through our moving bodies. Often techno music is buried in other genres, and not as present in the Christchurch music scene as we would wish.
At the Temple of Techno, we believe in the transcendent nature of the communal dancing experience while using the universal language of electronic music.

🕛When:
14.05 Sunday | 2-10pm
At the Temple of Techno, we understand that our fellow devotees have busy schedules and commitments that can make it difficult to fully immerse themselves in a long night of non-stop dancing. That's why we are hosting our party on Sunday afternoon, so that you can experience a real 8-hour rave without sacrificing your schedule. Additionally, our city has strict noise restrictions that limit us from throwing late-night parties, but it won’t stop us from raving.
🎧Who is playing? detailed info below.
DMTG
His interest in techno grew when he traveled to Berlin and experienced the techno culture in the city. He was not only drawn to the music but also to the atmosphere surrounding techno. It was there that he started to discover the darker side of techno, along with artists such as Marcel Dettmam, Marcel DB, and Rob Hes. When a friend introduced him to the actual process of DJ-ing, DMTG was captured and excited to start experimenting.
KATE.LAND
KATE.LAND draws inspiration from their experiences living and working in some of the most vibrant nightlife cities in the world, including Berlin, New York, and London. Through their travels, they have explored a wide range of musical genres, delving into the twisted corners of music to create a unique sound that merges acid techno and melodic ethereal sounds.
Dr.Mo
His love for the genre was ignited by the iconic film 'Berlin Calling' by Paul Kalkbrenner, which opened up a world of possibilities for him. Since then, he has explored a variety of electronic music genres, but it is the archaic forces of techno that he keeps coming back to. He is particularly drawn to the deep rumbles, hypnotic synth lines, and sizzling hi-hats that define the genre.
Maia Katz
Originally from Bulgaria, growing up, her mom used to wake her up with house music and that was her first introduction to electronic music. Maia’s genre selection ranges from groovy tech-house tracks to driving acid techno. She believes that the process of discovering music and track selection is a crucial, if not the most important part of being a DJ. Her career started here in Christchurch, where she felt she could bring some new energy to the music scene - you might have seen her at a warehouse rave, Mary Hush, Bonobo or maybe at your friend's house party.
MODOM
MODOM is passionate about bringing harder, darker, and more driving techno to dance floors both in New Zealand and beyond. With a deep love for dance, techno, and mixing, MODOM's style is heavily influenced by the Berlin techno scene. Known for her unconventional and unpredictable approach to DJing, always serving up a diverse and palatable range of tracks that range from driving and industrial to raw and hypnotic, with the occasional fruity surprise thrown in for good measure.
MOAD
MOAD has been Djing since 2013 and has a knack for the deep melodic and driving styles of techno and house music. He has played many festivals and parties around NZ. Making his beginnings in Christchurch amongst the M*A*S*S*I*V*E festivals and spending his summers DJ-ing around the counrty. MOAD is also hosting Saturday Night Techno Jams on RDU 98.5 FM from 6-7:30pm.
