SING-A-LONG BRUNCH: DIVAS EDITION

Sunday, November 8 | The Brass Kraken, Poulsbo

Hosted by Satonya D. Nix & CharlesXCX

There are two kinds of people in this world.

Those who listen to Whitney Houston sing “I Will Always Love You”…

…and those who believe, with absolutely no supporting evidence, that they can hit that final note.

Darlings, it’s time for your close-up.

Roll out the red carpet, pour the champagne, and prepare to behave like you have a Grammy, an Oscar, and a very complicated relationship with your publicist.

Join us Sunday, November 8 at The Brass Kraken for Sing-A-Long Brunch: Divas Edition, another fabulously interactive brunch experience from the beautifully chaotic minds behind Resting Brunch Face.

This month, we’re celebrating the voices, the legends, the icons, the fashion, the drama, and the women who taught generations of us that sometimes the only appropriate response to life’s problems is a dramatic key change.

We’re talking Whitney. Mariah. Beyoncé. Cher. Celine. Madonna. Gaga. Tina. Aretha. Diana. Britney. Christina. Adele. Dolly. Barbra. Patti. Chappell. And every other magnificent creature who has ever grabbed a microphone and made the world stop listening to itself for three minutes.

The assignment?

RED CARPET. FANCY. FABULOUS.

Sequins. Satin. Velvet. Feathers. Rhinestones. Evening gowns. Tuxedos. Opera gloves. Statement jewelry. That outfit you’ve been saving for an occasion that never seems to arrive.

Well, darling, the occasion has arrived.

And no, you do not need to spend a fortune. Some of the greatest fashion moments in history were held together with safety pins, double-sided tape, and delusion.

We respect the craft.

THIS IS NOT A SHOW WHERE YOU SIT QUIETLY.

This is a room full of people attempting Mariah’s whistle notes, demanding RESPECT from complete strangers, pointing dramatically across the table during “Since U Been Gone,” and discovering that the person sitting next to them has also been waiting their entire adult life to scream “AND IIIIIIIIIIIIIII” in public.

Expect the kind of collective emotional release that only happens when 100 people realize they all know the words to the same breakup song.

One minute we’re dancing to Beyoncé.

The next we’re crying with Adele.

Then somebody requests “Total Eclipse of the Heart” and suddenly we’re all in a music video involving wind machines, emotional damage, and questionable lighting.

It’s called range, sweetheart.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Legendary diva anthems spanning decades
Pop royalty, soul legends, disco queens, and powerhouse vocalists
Broadway divas and unforgettable showstoppers
Breakup ballads, dance-floor bangers, and songs that demand a dramatic hair flip
Audience games, prizes, and plenty of opportunities to steal the spotlight
Our fabulous Red Carpet Diva Contest
Sing-a-long moments that may permanently change your relationship with your vocal cords
A whole lot of community, laughter, and unapologetic fabulousness

And let’s be very clear about something.

You do not need to be a good singer.

You need enthusiasm, a little courage, and the willingness to commit to a chorus like your record deal depends on it.

Because at Sing-A-Long Brunch, the audience IS the entertainment.

THE RED CARPET SCHEDULE

Sunday, November 8

10:00 AM | Doors Open

The paparazzi are imaginary, but your entrance shouldn’t be. Grab brunch, order a cocktail, admire everyone’s outfits, and settle into your main-character moment.

11:00 AM | Sing-A-Long Brunch Begins

The microphones are metaphorically yours. The legends are waiting.

12:30 PM | Red Carpet Diva Contest

Bring the glamour. Bring the attitude. Bring the look that makes someone across the room whisper, “Who IS she?”

We’re celebrating creativity, confidence, fabulous fashion, and the ability to make an entrance.

IMPORTANT: Our previous brunches have filled up quickly, with seating nearly full by 11 AM.

The Brass Kraken opens at 10 AM. Arrive early or reserve your table in advance so you’re not standing outside like a celebrity who didn’t make the guest list.

Tragic.

WANT TO CONTROL THE SOUNDTRACK?

Song Tokens | $5 each

Every diva has a signature song.

What’s yours?

Purchase a Song Token to add your favorite diva anthem to our sing list and help curate the experience for the entire room.

Dedicate a power ballad to your best friend. Request the song that got you through your divorce. Bring back the pop anthem you performed in your bedroom with a hairbrush in 2003.

Or just make 100 strangers sing “Believe” by Cher.

We’re not here to judge your artistic vision.

Song Tokens add your selection to the sing list. VIP Super Song Tokens give you one opportunity to jump to the front of the queue.

It’s democracy, but with better hair.

COME AS YOU ARE. OR COME AS WHO YOU WERE BORN TO BE.

Maybe you’re a Diana Ross.

Maybe you’re a Lady Gaga.

Maybe you’re a Dolly Parton with a little Joan Jett mixed in.

Maybe you’ve been channeling your inner Beyoncé all year and finally have an excuse to wear the outfit.

Maybe you’re just someone who loves music, good food, ridiculous fun, and being surrounded by people who aren’t afraid to enjoy themselves.

Whatever your story, there’s a place for you here.

Sing-A-Long Brunch is part of the Resting Brunch Face family of events, bringing people together through music, laughter, performance, and a shared belief that community should be a little more fabulous.

Our themes rotate each month, but the mission stays the same.

Make space for joy.

Celebrate each other.

And give people permission to be a little louder, a little sillier, and a lot more themselves.

So find that outfit.

Call your entourage.

Practice your acceptance speech.

And prepare to make the kind of entrance that would make RuPaul turn around.

Come dressed to impress.

Sing like you’ve sold out Madison Square Garden.

Cheer for strangers.

Make some new friends.

And remember, darling:

You don’t need a record deal to be a diva. You just need the confidence to act like the room came to see you.
