JOIN US ON MONDAY 1 JULY AT 7:30AM IN THE RENNER HALL FOR A SERVICE OF COMMEMORATION.

This year the Rongotai College Old Boys’ Association, supported by the College, will be holding a service of commemoration to remember past and present acts of service, offered by Rongotai College old boys and New Zealander’s serving our military.

The service will begin promptly at 7:30am. Doors to Rongotai College will open at 7am and we ask that all attendees be seated in the Renner Hall by 7:25am. The service is expected to conclude by 8:15am. All attendees are invited to remain in the Renner Hall at the conclusion of the service for breakfast.

2024 marks the 73rd anniversary of the Rongotai College Roll of Honour. The wooden memorial board was unveiled on 1st July 1951 by then Governor-General, the Lord Freyberg, during a special service held at the College.

The Roll of Honour watches over the Renner Hall “In proud memory of our Old Boys who served in the Second World War”. Inscribed on the board are 92 names (91 old boys and 1 school master) who died in WWII. It serves as a humbling tribute to the deeds and sacrifices of these 92 men and all Rongotai College old boys who have served in New Zealand’s Armed Forces and Defence Force.
