Speakers - Anna Meares OAM - Olympics

Anna Meares’ name has become synonymous with excellence, resilience and the unmistakable spirit of Australian sport. A two-time Olympic gold medallist, eleven-time world champion and one of the greatest athletes Australia has ever produced, Anna built a legendary career defined by courage and consistency, dominating sprint and team events on the world stage for more than a decade while earning the respect of competitors across the globe.

Yet what truly sets her apart is not only her extraordinary success, but her remarkable resilience. Following a devastating crash in 2008 that left her with a fractured neck and threatened to end her career, Anna fought her way back in one of the greatest comebacks in sporting history, returning to the Olympic podium just seven months later, a testament to her fearless spirit, discipline and unbreakable determination.

Since retiring from competitive cycling, she has continued to shape Australian sport as Chef de Mission for the Australian Olympic Team, leading and inspiring athletes with the same passion, integrity and strategic brilliance that defined her time on the track. She is also an exceptional and captivating speaker whose insight and authenticity resonate deeply with audiences, with an unwavering character that’s every bit as impressive as her extraordinary achievements.
