Join us for Readers – Books and Conversation, a monthly series celebrating books and readers through in-depth yet relaxed discussions with authors about their work, creative process, and the ideas that inspire them. Hosted by renowned interviewer and curator Michaela Kalowski.
This July, we’re joined by Shankari Chandran, winner of the Miles Franklin Award for Chai Time at Cinnamon Gardens, to discuss her breathtaking new thriller set in post-war Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka, 2009. Decades of civil war and bloodshed are being brought to an end at last – by any means necessary. In the capital, Colombo, tenacious journalist Ameena Fernando is murdered, execution-style, on a busy street near her home, with no witnesses.
