  • Antic MC

    Antic MC

Growing up in Auckland, Antic discovered drum & bass as a teenager at K-Road’s iconic “The Breaks” nights at Hertzog, an experience that sparked a lifelong connection to the sound. His MC journey began in 1997 with DJ K-Tel at Wellington’s Bar Bodega, soon becoming a resident with Bass Frontiers. In 1999, he made his Sydney debut alongside UK legends Kemistry & Storm at Sublime, before relocating later that year to become a key part of the city’s drum & bass scene. He went on to host radio on Dex FM and perform widely, including appearances at Big Day Out, Two Tribes, and a long-running Friday residency at Sublime @ Home in Darling Harbour. With a career spanning over three decades, Antic has shared the stage with many of drum & bass’s biggest names. Known for his deep understanding of the genre, his MC style is rooted in timing, space, and enhancing the music, never overpowering it. His approach represents the DJ, the promoter, and the dancefloor experience first and foremost. After stepping back in 2017 to focus on hip-hop projects, Antic returns to drum & bass, Sydney and Wellington based and ready to bring that same energy and experience back to the mic.

  • The Obvious

  • Ed Gee

    Ed Gee

Ed Gee first discovered DJing in 1995, starting out with happy breakbeat and hardcore before moving through trance, house and breaks, and eventually finding his place in drum & bass. His first proper gig came at Joined at the Bass in Newtown, alongside mates A.L.F. and LUCIAN, where hip hop and deeper styles of DnB set the tone. After winning the Radio Dex Bedroom Bangers competition in 1999, he went on to support international acts including Grooverider, LTJ Bukem, J Majik, Roni Size and Total Science. Known for his versatility, Ed Gee built a reputation for being able to play any set time, always keeping the floor moving regardless of the crowd size. After time away raising a family, he returned to DJing, with the shift from vinyl to CDJs marking a new chapter rather than a barrier. The format changed, but the music and energy remained the same. Now, with a more rounded approach but the same passion, Ed Gee continues to play the music he’s loved for decades, whether that’s classic ’90s jazz-influenced DnB, deeper selections or straight up dancefloor bangers. Alongside this, he’s focused on giving back to the scene that’s been such a big part of his life for over 30 years as co-owner of Sonic Fiction Recordings with good friends LUCIAN and Vice Versa.
