REAL TALK ON… BREATH

From facemasks and mental health, to famous breathwork techniques such as the Wim Hof method and all in between. Breath as a topic has quite literally been hot on everyone’s lips recently.

So, what benefits can come from adapting your breathing technique?

Do you actually remember the last time you filled your lungs and your belly with fresh air, and then slowly let the whole lot out again? Shallow breathing friends - worry not. You are not alone.

In truth, over the last few generations, our breathing has become increasingly shallow. Our lifestyles are fast, our jobs are stressful, and the pressure we place on ourselves can be wildly overwhelming. This continuous underlying anxiety causes us to constrict our breathing. Conditions associated with dysfunctional breathing include; asthma, sinusitis, sleep apnoea, snoring, reflux, anxiety and more. With each teeny tiny breath, we’re basically strengthening our sympathetic nervous system, keeping us in fight-or-flight mode, all day, every day.

And that’s no good for anyone.

If we want to give our health and lives the best chance of thriving, we genuinely need to start paying attention to our breath. With tangible health benefits to be gained like more energy, lowered stress levels and an improved immune system - there is now also a myriad of research out there to back up why.

Join us for a real and honest discussion on breath. We’ll be chatting to breath experts Uma Spender, Mim Beim & Mark Kluwer on the life enhancing benefits we can gain from breathwork. We’ll hear about the incredibly powerful journeys each of our speakers have gone on to rediscover their breath and themselves along the way, dispel any breathwork myths and learn how we can get a little more conscious of this amazingly simple yet profound tool we have access to, wherever we go, whenever we need.
