Event description

On Sunday 28th July, join in focusing on rebuilding community: core services, local initiatives, community connection and care.

Forum #2 - Rebuilding Community: What could Port Phillip do?

Hear from First Nations dynamos, the arts community, aged care and childrens services activists, library users and people across Port Phillip doing great things.

Featured speaker: Sr Brigid Arthur AO, co-founder of the Brigidine Asylum Seekers Project.

In recent years:

  • In-home aged and disability care services have been privatised by Council.
  • Only a massive parent and local campaign prevented Council from selling community children’s centres.
  • Reinvigoration of our libraries has been deferred.
  • Funding has been cut to community arts.

It’s time to change this trajectory. And to rebuild vital services.
