This session will cover the operation of the land tax regime in Victoria, the scope of the available exemptions for charities, the obligations for notification of errors in the assessment and change in use of the property, and the Commissioner’s investigation and re-assessment powers. There will be an opportunity for members to hear guidance on how to best position themselves to ensure compliance, manage enforcement actions and minimise the possibility of penalties and interest.

Although focused on Victoria, the issues that will be raised may apply in other States and Territories.
