Event description

**Entry to each individual class is by way of donation. Please set your own donation amount when purchasing tickets**

Many of you have likely seen (or heard) construction work being done at Recentre over the last few weeks to make space for...an Ice Bath Plunge Tub!

There are many well-known benefits to cold water immersion - not only can it help to flush toxins, improve recovery and reduce inflammation, but cold water therapy can also increase blood flow and circulation and improve sleep quality.

We are excited to hold an open day to promote the benefits of contrast therapy in conjunction with the Recovery membership and services at Recentre

Schedule of Event at the Recentre Open Day | Sunday 10th  of July

8:00 am - 9:00 am
Japanese Yoga by Luisa Silva
(BYO Yoga Mats)
Join Luisa for a morning of Japanese Yoga class to help you start the day and find your centre.
The class incorporates some Yang movements/poses (gently lengthen and strengthen) to counteract bad posture and tension held in the body, then flow into a Yin phase (slower, introspective) to deeply wind down and allow for more space within the realm of body and mind.
We incorporate breathwork/mindful breathing techniques in all the poses.

Luisa runs her yoga classes at Recentre every Tuesday at 6pm.

9:30am - 10:30am
Release & Mobility workshop, by Cency & Jemma
(BYO Yoga Mats)
Learn how massage & mobility go hand in hand - we will show you how to release different muscles, and then follow this up with specific mobility exercises to create longer lasting improvements in your movement
Cency is a Remedial massage therapist and Jemma is a Excercise physiologist at Recentre.

11:00am - 11:45am Hot/Cold Contrast Therapy + Breathwork, by Emma Shearman
(BYO Yoga Mats)
Join the workshop led by performance breath and cold water immersion coach, Emma Shearman. Emma will dive into the benefits of cold plunging, sauna bathing and how to best utilise them together. Come away with an understanding of the new research in this space and recommended tips/protocols on how to use them to recover faster, improve immunity and strengthen your mindset.

There will be coffee supplied by Roseberry Cafe on the day.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to MND Australia - which will go towards research to discover treatments for Motor neuron disease, as well as support, care and advocacy for all Australians impacted by motor neurone disease.
