ReCommunity Meditative Stitching| WAUCHOPE
Event description
Working with plain stitches participants will make a small Pocket Pal, or a Mug Rug. We will use thread as the main form of embellishment, and see how buttons, found objects and other personal items can enhance the project.
We will look at other forms of mindful stitching such as Boro, Kawandi and visible mending. Examples of various outcomes will be available for discussion.
Meet your Facilitator - Adrienne van Spanje
Now retired, I can spend more time making, and thinking about making. I have always been a collector and am now creating bits and bobs for me, family and friends and the Wauchope Creative Hub. I have made many quilts, wallhangings, pictures and dog blankets, and even put my creations in various local shows. I am launching into some smaller works with meditative stitching, and seeing what can evolve - wall art, poppets, bears and other beasts, fabric ribbon, and just meandering with fabric and thread. I also have a wild sometimes untamed garden, and a gorgeous boofhead rescue called Vinnie.
Registration is free but essential.
