Wingecarribee Reconciliation Day
Description
National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to reflect on the role each of us plays in advancing reconciliation.
This year, we honour the community members who laid the foundations for reconciliation in the Wingecarribee more than 20 years ago. Through the establishment of the Wingecarribee Reconciliation Committee, these leaders brought truth‑telling to the forefront, preserved stories and histories long overlooked, and worked tirelessly to bring our community together in culturally respectful ways.
Their commitment has ensured that the rich history of Gundungurra Country is not forgotten, but strengthened carried forward with honesty, respect, and a shared responsibility to walk together.
