About the Facilitator:
Amy Lea Hill-Trindall is a contemporary Aboriginal artist from the Kamilaroi Nation. She is the owner and Director of Dewrang Art. Dewrang is a Dharawal word meaning "High or lofty". Amy says "All my life I have lived along the Georges and Woronora rivers on Dharawal Country. Looking down to the river from my “high and Lofty“ home is wonderful and inspiring. For me, Dewrang means home and symbolizes connectedness."
As a previous Board member of the Kurranulla Aboriginal Corporation, Amy gained a great deal of knowledge listening and learning from Elders. She is proud of her heritage and loves to share the beauty of her culture. In her artworks, she uses modern colours and traditional methods to create truly unique aboriginal artworks that reflect Dharawal Totems, animals, birds and marine widllife native to the area.
