Lithgow Transformation Hub warmly invites you to a FREE special evening to mark Reconciliation Week 2023.
Dr Stephen Gapps will be in conversation with Fiona Towney, Director of Western Sydney University’s Badanami Centre for Indigenous Education.
Stephen is a public historian with particular interest in Frontier Wars histories and is the award-winning author of The Sydney Wars. His most recent book, Gudyarra, details the Wiradjuri war of resistance and “offers new understandings of the complexity of frontier history and the need for all Australians to reconcile with the past”. Stephen will be discussing this important new historical account of the fierce Wiradjuri resistance that took place across a vast area of the Central West.
