Engaging the deeply sustaining practices + principles of the Work that Reconnects, Deep Ecology, Nonviolence, Liberation + Nonviolent Communication

In our hearts we know and long for a world that is possible – a thriving world that works for all. This retreat is an opportunity to experience ourselves as part of the web of life, connect with the wisdom of the whole to sustain and guide our work in the world. We will experience the deeply healing practices of the Work that Reconnects, Deep Ecology, Nonviolence and Nonviolent communication through a Liberation lens. Being supported to create transformational change that accesses the power of our interconnected reality and ecological self.

We intend this retreat to be the beginning of building a community of practice and support as we respond to the great unravelling of our world, in ways that are unprecedented.

Integration time and space

This is an invitation to gather and be nourished by the beautiful surrounds of Flaxton, on the Sunshine Coast of Queesnland. We acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land the Jinabara, Kabi Kabi/Gubbi Gubbi peoples and pay our respects to Elders past and present.

The retreat is facilitated by Shar Molloy and Kate Raffin

Shar Molloy first trained with Joanna Macy and John Seed in 2001 and has applied the wisdom of Deep Ecology and the Work that Reconnects in her roles as an environmental campaigner, since this time. She has recently co-lead the Environment Centre of the Northern Territory and is Vice President of the Australian Conservation Foundation. She is also a trained facilitator and coach of Nonviolent Communication and an Associate of Nonviolent Global Liberation (NGL). Her purpose is to support others to experience themselves as part of the web of life and discern what is theirs to do in the ‘great unravelling’.

Kate Raffin

Kate is a trained facilitator and certified trainer with the centre for Nonviolent Communication, accredited mediator and facilitator of the Work that Reconnects. She is working with many individuals and groups, including activist groups, climate assessment organisations as well as some influential figures in decision-making and policy in government to support the efforts of this important work to be more sustained.

She sees a great need for us to celebrate, mourn and to re-inspire, reconnect + re-energise - to embrace what is ! and understand ourselves as whole and ready to play our part by continuing to stay alive with our vision as we integrate and digest change at a rate never seen before … even have some fun along the way.

The retreat tickets are sliding scale, please select an amount at the top of your ability eg. unemployed and students $300, financially secure $600 or somewhere in-between.

This will be a lived in retreat only, with camping space available. Simple vegetarian and vegan food will be provided and prepared together.
