L-Theanine Effects on Brain Waves

Brain waves and the polyvagal system with nutrients and herbs.

This discussion incorporates the effect that l-theanine has on various waves of the brain, and what this does from a behavioural, cognitive, and overall health perspective. It showcases how the modification of brain waves over time can have a positive effect on the whole body via the vagal pathway, and what this addition can mean for your patients.

The polyvagal superhighway is a bi-directional messenger pathway between the visceral organs to the brain, and vice-versa. We look at what we know, and what we don’t know to date about the cross-talk that occurs via this system.The interplay of the vagal efferent and afferent pathways have a distinct effect on not only the gut/brain axis, but other visceral organs. This webinar discusses the potential impact that l-theanine can have on these pathways.

We also look at the nutrients and herbs that can have a distinct impact on the polyvagal cross-talk and how that occurs.

Naturopathic philosophy emphasises treating the whole person, starting with gut health. This discussion reinforces this approach by highlighting the impact of stress on the vagal system and its influence on overall well-being. We will also be incorporating case studies as part of the discussion.
