Probiotics for Skin and Allergic Conditions: exploring acne, eczema, asthma and the microbiome

An increasingly sterile environment is changing the composition of our gut microbiome and altering how our immune system functions. These changes are believed to be contributing to the world-wide rise in atopic conditions. Clinical management of these conditions can be a therapeutic challenge and often requires multiple strategies to control acute exacerbations and target long-term stabilisation. The beneficial effects of probiotics are now known to extend beyond the gut and can impact the progression of many different health conditions due to their modulation of host immune responses and systemic inflammatory pathways.

Join us for an insightful educational webinar on April 17th at 7:30pm AEST, presented by Rebecca Edwards, Director of Education at Activated Probiotics. In this 90-minute session, Rebecca will explore the growing body of evidence supporting the use of strain-specific probiotics in addressing atopic and dermatological conditions. Attendees will gain practical insights in understanding the relationship between the gut microbiome and skin health and clinically trialled probiotics that are showing promising results in managing skin conditions including acne and eczema.

This webinar is designed to equip you with valuable knowledge on how probiotics can be an essential tool in supporting your community's health. Don’t miss this opportunity to enhance your understanding of how targeted probiotic therapy can be an effective strategy in managing skin and immune health.

Presenter: Rebecca Edwards

Rebecca Edwards, Director of Education at Activated Probiotics, is a speaker, writer, educator, and qualified naturopath. She has more than twenty years of experience educating on all aspects of complementary and integrative health. A passionate and inspiring speaker, Rebecca has lectured to undergraduate students in Australia, the UK, and the US, and delivered naturopathic education to healthcare practitioners around the world.

She spent ten years practising as a naturopath in London, while also teaching at the UK’s largest college of natural medicine. This was followed by two years living in California, where she again lectured in holistic healthcare. Now based in Melbourne with her husband, twelve year old son, and very spoilt dog, Rebecca taught at Endeavour College of Natural Health before moving to Activated Probiotics full time. As the Director of Education, she loves nothing more than sharing cutting-edge research with her team of educators, and the practitioner and medical communities internationally.

Growing up in a medical family (cardiothoracic surgeon father and microbiologist mother), Rebecca always knew she would work in the world of health. However, after being inspired by a naturopath she decided to follow a more holistic pathway than her parents. Initially taking a degree in English and History before qualifying as a naturopath, she has always been interested in people and learning, being fascinated by the connection between human health and the natural world.
