Webinar Series: Mastering Foot Mechanics

Part 1

In this webinar, participants will delve into the fascinating topic of foot pronation and its implications on overall foot function. The objective is to equip practitioners with a comprehensive understanding of how and when the foot pronates, enabling them to make informed decisions when it comes to promoting mobility and function in the feet. By the end of the session, participants will not only be able to explain the concept of foot pronation and its occurrence but also appreciate the numerous benefits it brings to the entire body. Moreover, they will have the opportunity to evaluate their own foot shapes in relation to pronation and engage in a series of functional exercises specifically designed to explore and enhance their own feet function. With this newfound knowledge and skills, practitioners will be better equipped to support their clients in achieving optimal foot health and performance. So, join us for this enlightening webinar and take a step towards unlocking the full potential of your feet!

Part 2

During this informative webinar, participants will delve into the complex topic of foot supination and its impact on overall foot function. By the end of the session, attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of the intricate mechanics behind foot supination and be equipped with practical knowledge on how to improve mobility and function in their own feet. Through a series of engaging and interactive exercises, practitioners will learn when foot supination occurs and the myriad benefits it brings to the body as a whole. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to assess their own foot shapes in relation to supination and explore several functional exercises tailored to enhance their feet function. By actively participating in this webinar, practitioners will develop the skills and expertise necessary to not only explain foot supination with confidence, but also apply this knowledge in their practice to help their clients achieve optimal foot health.

Part 3

The webinar aims to provide practitioners with a comprehensive understanding of the impact that feet mechanics have on overall body mechanics. Through this informative session, participants will delve into the intricacies of functional movements, uncovering ways to enhance mobility and improve overall function within their bodies. By understanding the key concepts surrounding pronation and supination, attendees will gain valuable insights into how these two phases of gait contribute to the optimal articulation and benefit of the human body. Participants will be equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively explain the mechanisms and benefits associated with pronation and supination. They will also acquire the ability to evaluate and identify different foot shapes that correspond to pronation and supination, aligning them with the respective body shape. Moreover, attendees will engage in a series of practical and functional exercises designed to explore and expand their physical capabilities. Through these exercises, participants can further comprehend the interconnectedness between the feet and the body, fostering greater awareness and functionality within their own bodies.

Presenter: Riccardo Galeotti

As a Doctor of Chinese Medicine, specialising in Acupuncture, Riccardo has over 15 years of clinical experience with an emphasis on holistic, preventative health care. In addition to acupuncture, through his Canberra-based clinic Riccardo has developed a multi-modal approach to therapy, which also offers treatments grounded in functional biomechanics and the Anatomy in Motion (AiM) technique for understanding the movement of each joint structure individually as well as its integrative role in whole of body movement. Through training in muscle testing, gait (walking) analysis, foot mobilisation, functional gait exercises, functional anatomy, and the AiM method, Riccardo has developed an intricate understanding of the body, how it moves, and how to diagnose and treat pain, discomfort, or limitations in mobility. Riccardo can work both internally, addressing the acupuncture meridians, and externally, targeting the bones and muscles through biomechanics and functional anatomy. Riccardo’s experience in integrating these modalities has not only enhanced his practice and success with clients, but it has also led him to expand into providing training and mentorship to other clinicians, in the form of mentorship, workshops, and online seminars.
