Recovery and Reflection: Connection and re-engaging with the world
Event description
Connection is essential. Whether its peer led or found via other professional supports, through community, relationships or spiritually, connection helps individuals build trust, rediscover identity, and create a sense of belonging and worth beyond the eating disorder.
This month's event will centre on Connection and re-engaging with the world, and will explore the essential role connection holds when re-engaging with the world either post eating disorder treatment, or when looking for new ways to engage. For many, this is both a hopeful milestone and a vulnerable time in which you may find yourself questioning how to engage in spaces such as social gatherings, meals with others, family, workplaces and/or study. Using intentional storytelling, our lived experience ambassador will reflect on how learning to cope without falling back on past behaviours is where connection becomes essential. It creates space for honesty, support and belonging.
This event will feature guided discussion and reflection questions. You will not be expected to share your answers to the questions.
