ReCycle - Bike Tune-Up & Drop-Off Event
Event description
Bike Tune-Up & Drop-Off Event
🚲 Bikes are more than just rides – they’re valuable resources!
Did you know:
NSW bike shops could generate up to 50 tonnes of rubber waste every year.
Australian homes may have up to 14 million unused tyres and tubes on old bikes – that’s 10,000 tonnes of material!
Don’t let your old bike go to waste. In partnerships with Revolve Recycling, Penrith City Council brings back another free Bike Tune-Up & Drop-Off Event, to have your bike repaired, donated, or recycled – a simple step that supports the circular economy.
What can you do?
Book a 15-minute Tune-Up timeslot (note: only bicycles can be repaired, not e-bikes or scooters).
Donate a bike you no longer use (no bookings necessary for bike drop-off).
Repairable bikes will be sold at affordable prices or donated to underprivileged children.
Unrepairable bikes won’t go to waste—they’ll be dismantled, with parts reused for other bikes, playground equipment, bike lanes, and asphalt.
