Red Poppy Film Festival
Description
From March 6–8, 2026, the Veterans Film Foundation proudly presents the Red Poppy Film Festival at the Art Gallery of NSW—a moving celebration of storytelling, creativity, and remembrance. This inspiring event showcases films created by veterans and filmmakers who capture the realities of war, service, and sacrifice through powerful narratives and stunning cinematic craft. Attendees will experience an unforgettable line-up of feature films, documentaries, and short works, all vying for the prestigious Red Poppy Awards honoring excellence in storytelling, direction, performance, and contributions to a deeper understanding of the service experience. The festival opens with a spectacular Opening Night featuring the Red Poppy Awards presentation, premiere screenings, art display and a vibrant cocktail gala that brings together current and former service members, their families, the film industry and supporters. Join us for an extraordinary weekend that not only celebrates great cinema but also supports the voices of those who’ve served—stories and art that deserve to be seen, shared, and remembered.
