Red Tent Motueka
Event description
Nau mai haere mai,
Welcome to your Red Tent!
The tent is a pop-up village of women who meet monthly. We welcome every woman from menarche (first menstrual bleed) to post menopause and beyond - our hope is to create an intergenerational sharing circle and a safe space to turn up and BE YOURSELF in whatever mood or state you're in - we've got you!
This is an open group, so you may come regularly or just attend when you can, as long as you've registered first.
Why attend the Red Tent?
Wherever you are in your life cycle, menstrual cycle or moon cycle, the Red Tent is a place to experience belonging and companionship with other women. It is a space to meet ourselves just as we are on the day and in that moment. Whether you need an opportunity for you to go inwards and rest, supportive community and connection, or a space for your emotions to safely come to the surface to be released, this is the space for you.
What is a sharing circle?
At each Red Tent, the facilitator will introduce a unique theme to guide our exploration for that circle. One at a time we will have a chance to share our experiences, stories and whatever is bubbling up in us that wants to be expressed and witnessed. When a women is speaking, the other women are invited to listen deeply, and be present for the one who is sharing - this can be a truly powerful and transformative experience for both the speaker and the listeners.
What if I don't want to share?
There's no pressure to speak during the Tent, it is your choice. If you're feeling wiped out and exhausted and just want to lie down for a few hours, you're more than welcome to. The tent is there for whatever you need on that day and in that moment. It is about listening deeply to yourself. If your body is asking you to rest, please go for it, and celebrate yourself for honouring your needs.
Will there be tea drinking and cake eating?
Yes, 100%. We'll have a break in the middle of the circle to stretch out, grab a cuppa, eat some delicious snacks with the beautiful women in our circle.
Please reach out if you have any questions.
If cost is a barrier for you to attend, please reach out to me at
