Redefining Intimacy Through Menopause: A Pleasure Shift
Event Details
Facilitated by Fiona Coorey | Somatic Sexologist & Embodied Counsellor
Menopause can change our experience of libido, intimacy, pleasure and connection — but it doesn't mean these parts of our lives have to disappear.
Menopause is not a single event. It's a natural transition through perimenopause, menopause and post-menopause, bringing changes that can influence our hormones, emotions, relationships and sexual wellbeing.
Redefining Intimacy in Menopause: The Pleasure Shift is a supportive and educational 3-hour workshop exploring how these changes can affect sexuality, body confidence and connection — and how to navigate them with greater awareness, understanding and choice.
Through gentle body awareness, open discussion and guided reflection, we'll explore new ways of relating to our changing bodies, reconnecting with pleasure and redefining what intimacy means at this stage of life.
We'll explore:
The menopause timeline and how hormonal changes influence mood, libido and wellbeing
Common menopausal symptoms and their impact on everyday life
Sexual changes such as vaginal dryness, painful sex and reduced libido — and ways to address them
How stress, sleep and emotional wellbeing influence libido, with practical strategies to support sexual wellbeing
Pathways to pleasure through body awareness, curiosity and sensual reconnection
Redefining intimacy and communicating needs and desires to nurture connection and confidence
This workshop offers a welcoming, inclusive and non-judgemental space for women and anyone navigating menopause to learn, reflect and reconnect with their bodies at their own pace.
All activities are fully clothed, and participation in discussions and exercises is entirely optional.
Light refreshments provided.
