Reel Justice: I Am Greta

This month, we’re screening I Am Greta — a powerful documentary that follows Greta Thunberg’s rise from a lone school strike outside Sweden’s parliament to becoming a global symbol of environmental justice.

Right now, Greta is on board the Global Sumud Flotilla, a mission carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza and challenging the blockade. The flotilla has already faced suspected drone attacks — including one on the “Family Boat,” that is carrying Greta.

This makes this film feel even more urgent as Greta’s presence in the flotilla connects the threads of climate justice, freedom of movement, humanitarian solidarity, and resistance to oppression.
