Sat, 1 Nov, 4:30pm - 7:30pm AEST

Event description

Join us for the twilight opening of Reflections — a collaborative exhibition that brings together 25 Sunshine Coast artists, and invites the broader community to explore our relationship with the natural world through diverse perspectives.

The evening will feature a Welcome to Country by Aunty Beverly Hand, live music, shared stories, and the chance to meet the artists.

Guests will enjoy a selection of local produce and refreshments while experiencing the exhibition for the first time in the beautiful surrounds of the Maroochy Regional Bushland Botanic Garden at dusk.

Join us in celebrating the diverse and powerful ways art can reflect, question, and deepen our connection with the natural world.

About the Project

Reflections is a six-month creative journey that has brought together Sunshine Coast artists and knowledge-holders through cultural experiences, environmental learning, and artistic collaboration. Culminating in this exhibition and a two-week public program, the project invites the community to pause, reflect, and consider how we might all play a role in caring for the places we call home.

Special acknowledgement goes to Sally Stent, Mark Burrill, and Barung Landcare for their contributions to the exhibition curation and installation.

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians, the Kabi Kabi/Gubbi Gubbi people, of the land on which this exhibition takes place. We pay our deep respects to Elders past and present, and extend that respect to all First Nations peoples.
