Refuge Ceremony with Geshe Rabten
Description
If you wish formally to take refuge in the Three Jewels from Geshe Rabten, you are most welcome to do so.
There will also be an opportunity to take all or any of the five lay vows.
The only prerequisite is a heartfelt wish to take refuge and a determination to keep any vows taken.
"Buddhist Refuge is a process of turning inward that begins with our discovery of our own unlimited potential as human beings....Once we have formally taken refuge, we assume a certain responsibility for our behaviour. We should watch our mind and examine inner processes of action and reaction What is my mind doing now? What impulse is arising? When I act like this, what is the result?" - Lama Thubten Yeshe
The ceremony will last approximately 40 minutes. It is traditional to bring a small offering to offer at the end of the ceremony.
