Event description

Zion Disability Services cordially invites you to join them in celebrating refugee migrants with disability on Friday 20 June 2025 at the Founders Restaurant, 246 Fosters Road, Oakden, SA 5086. Come and hear real life-refugee stories, first-hand from refugee migrants with disability like Esther Simbi, award-winning author, polio survivor and a single mother of two beautiful daughters, and from our guest speakers. There will be music, singing, dancing, entertainment, food, raffle prizes and more. Get ready to be wowed, amazed, inspired, and motivated. The Theme for this year’s Refugee Week is ‘Finding Freedom’:  ‘Diversity in Community’.

Refugees especially those with disability can often feel isolated, not understood, not included, not valued, not celebrated and can often feel like they do not belong. Here at Zion Disability Services Inc, supporting and celebrating the achievements of refugee migrants including those with disability is the CENTRE of our service delivery. As we do not have government funding, we are raising money at this event to support Refugee Migrants with disability in South Australia to access the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), and to gain knowledge and understanding of support services in the community.
