Regenerative Cane Master Classes
As part of the 2021 Regenerative Cane Forum we are having 2 extra 1/2 day Master Classes the day after the Forum.
Take your regenerative cane farming skills to another level by joining us for one of these Master Classes.
These 4 hour events will be held on Wednesday 17th Feb following the Forum on farms near Cairns.
Cover Cropping Master Class
With Simon Mattsson and Wet Tropics cane farmers Mark Savina, Alan Lynn, Ray Zamora and Michael Waring. Join these regenerative cane farmers who have been growing cover crops for a number of years as they share their experience and take you through the basics of cover cropping success in a cane farming system. This Master Class is for people who are either starting out in cover crops or want some tips on growing them better.
Composting Master Class
Join independent extension specialist David Hardwick and the Rossi brothers who farm south of Cairns and have been making and using compost for a number of years. Get practical tips for making compost on farm and how to use it to build soil health and improve your farming system. This Masterclass is for people who are thinking of either making compost or buying it and using it on farm to fix soil issues.
Cost: $50 per person + GST. Morning Tea & Lunch will also be provided.
Location: On farms near Cairns.
- Cover Cropping - Mark Savina near Freshwater.
- Compost - Rossi Farm south of Gordonvale.

Each Master Class goes from 8.30 am to 1.00pm on Wednesday 17th Feb 2021.
