Regenerative Futures Lab - Adelaide - 26 Feb 2024
Event description
Hey there!
Are you ready to reimagine new ways for humans to thrive as part of Earth’s flourishing living systems?
Are you seeking practical ways to apply regenerative thinking, methods and frameworks to your work?
Are you ready to embark on a new path of regenerative leadership?
Join us in an immersive and interactive 2 hour lab, on the Monday 26th February 2024 in the iconic Adelaide Parklands (Pelzer Park/ Pikyarilla - which means 'marshmallow root place' Park 19), to expand perspectives, cultivate skills and build knowledge through a series of activities and frameworks exploring:Â
- Worldviews and culture
- Regenerative futures frameworks
- Techniques to navigate ambiguityÂ
Our labs are held in nature, sun, rain, hail or shine - so please dress to be outside comfortably.Â
What is Regeneration?Â
Regeneration refers to ways of being, that revitalise ourselves, each other and the places we cherish on our wondrous planet.Â
It's ways of being that continually builds the capacity and capability of the living systems in which we live.Â
It is beyond sustainability. Where sustainability aims to do no harm and maintain life on Earth, regeneration aims to do more good than harm.Â
We deeply and honour and respect that First Nations peoples around the world have forever lived in regenerative ways.Â
What will we explore in the lab?
1. Worldviews and culture
We begin to explore some of the ways we humans make sense of the world.
This begins with honouring First Nations wisdom and reflecting on the ways of the being, of the world’s longest living cultures. Â
Through enchanting activities we explore other deep time perspectives, the genius of nature's design principles, complexity and culture.
2. Regenerative futures frameworks
We explore several practical frameworks, models and approaches to scope the unique potential of our local place and consider ways to strengthen ecological and social health, from a local and global perspective, for immediate application to professional practice and projects.
3. Techniques to navigate ambiguity
We embed practical evidence based methods throughout the workshop that help cultivate self-awareness, self-compassion, realistic optimism and resilience as we all find ways to make sense of the changes and challenges we face in our professional and personal lives.
Background
We are living amid interesting and challenging times, knowing we need to transform the ways we live and work in myriad ways for all humans to thrive on a flourishing planet.
The magnitude and pace of change we face is increasing and becoming overwhelming.
Every action we take and every decision we make presents an opportunity to either bring to being a future we want to live and work in, or reinforce ways that continue to cause human languishing and harm to the planet.
We are all involved. We are all impacted - especially young people.
We are all being invited to change in ways we might not have yet imagined; in our inner selves, our interaction with each other, the places we live and work and planet earth.
Learning to think differently is an important part of this journey.
We look forward to walking beside you, as you navigate your path to leading more regenerative ways of being.Â
Let’s begin.
