    Event description

Join us at Ōtākaro Orchard on Sunday 22nd May, 13.30-3pm, where we are delighted to bring you a workshop on 'Regenerative Permanent Whole Systems" as part of Ako Ōtāutahi's learning days festival.

Weaving together Te Āo Māori, permaculture principles and food forest design philosophy, we will investigate how these relate to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and explore innovative ways to promote equity in learning, experience and opportunity.

A tour of the food forest will seek to show the importance creating beneficial relationships between each element within a system, (e.g. companion planting), and highlight how all life is interconnected. As Chief Seattle said "Man did not weave the web of life; he is merely a strand within it.  Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself."

The workshop will be held outside at Ōtākaro Orchard Food forest so please bring appropriate footwear and weather protection.

In the event of rain the workshop will be postponed till the following weekend. A compost toilet is onsite and public toilets are located at the Margret Mahy playground across the road.

Cost is a koha of $5 per person.
